The About page joined a short artist statement to a longer biography describing family craft traditions, Minnesota, education, teaching, residencies, and a home studio.
“It comes as no surprise that I make functional pots. Growing up in a family comprised of an inventor, quilter, seamstress, carpenter, and two farmers, a love for food and creative endeavors is in my blood. Biography
Kristin grew up in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, on the southeast edge of St. Paul, between city and farmland. The biography said she earned a bachelor's degree focused on Studio Arts and completed a ceramics M.F.A. in Pennsylvania in 2004, where she developed a love for earthenware. These are dated biographical details rather than current credential claims.
The page next described five years leading a university ceramics program in St. Paul before leaving to start a family. It recorded artist residencies in Montana, Japan, and Maine; project and arts support in Minnesota; teaching locally and nationally; and exhibitions around the country.
